          The halogen bulb provides daytime warm-side heat while the PID dimming thermostat regulates output more smoothly. The thermometer-hygrometer helps track enclosure air temperature and humidity, while the infrared thermometer is used for surface checks. The moist hide provides a dedicated higher-humidity microclimate.

          Beginner Setup Mistakes

          Setup Guide

          1. Position the daytime heat source Install the deep-dome lamp above the warm side of the enclosure.

          2. Connect the PID dimming thermostat Connect the heating equipment through the thermostat and position its probe according to the controller instructions and your planned warm-side setup.

          3. Place the thermometer-hygrometer Position the sensor so it can help monitor enclosure air temperature and humidity.

          4. Prepare the humid hide Place the moist hide in an appropriate part of the enclosure and maintain the moisture tray as needed.

          5. Check surface temperatures Use the infrared thermometer to verify actual surface temperatures around the warm area and hides.

          6. Adjust and observe Allow the enclosure to stabilize, then adjust the system based on measured conditions and species-appropriate care guidance.

          Important Setup Notes

          • This kit uses daytime overhead heating and a PID dimming thermostat.

          • Do not rely on thermostat settings alone; verify actual enclosure and surface temperatures.

          • Humidity can vary across the enclosure, so readings should be interpreted together with hide placement, ventilation, and room conditions.

          • The humid hide creates a local higher-humidity microclimate; it is not intended to keep the entire enclosure constantly humid.
