How the kit works together

  1. Heat

The basking bulb and adjustable lamp create a focused warm zone.

  2. UVB

The T5 HO system provides broad UVB coverage across the basking side.

  3. Monitor

Two probe thermometers help confirm a warm-to-cool temperature gradient.

Who this kit is for

Good fit for

  • First-time bearded dragon owners
  • New habitat setups
  • Existing enclosures that need a coordinated lighting upgrade
  • Keepers replacing compact UVB lighting
  • Owners who want to monitor both warm-side and cool-side temperatures

May not be right for

Setup guide

Use the equipment together to create a warm basking side, a cooler retreat side and broad UVB coverage across part of the enclosure. Always test the completed setup before regular use.

  1. Step 1

    Create the Basking Side

Install the 75W basking bulb and adjustable clamp lamp over one end of the enclosure. Direct the light toward a stable basking surface while keeping the opposite side cooler.

Secure the clamp and arm firmly before switching on the lamp. The reptile must not be able to touch the bulb, socket or hot metal housing.
  2. Step 2

    Position the T5 UVB Fixture

Install the T5 fixture so that it covers the basking area and part of the enclosure rather than the entire habitat. It may be placed above a suitable mesh screen, mounted underneath compatible mesh, or secured to a wooden vivarium.

Mesh density, mounting height and distance affect UVB delivery. Always provide a shaded retreat.
  3. Step 3

    Monitor Both Sides

Place one digital probe on the warm side and the second on the cool side. Secure the wires and suction cups so they cannot be pulled, bitten or placed against hot equipment.

The thermometers measure temperature but do not automatically regulate the lamp.
  4. Step 4

    Test and Adjust the Setup

Allow the enclosure temperatures to stabilize, then review both thermometer readings. Adjust the lamp height, angle, manual dimmer setting, basking-surface position and ventilation as needed.

Do not assume the correct environment has been created simply because the equipment is installed. Test before regular use and recheck after seasonal room-temperature changes.
  5. Step 5

    Set a Consistent Daytime Schedule

Use the timer control to establish a regular daytime lighting period. The basking lamp and UVB system should normally be turned off during the nighttime period.

Do not use colored night bulbs. Separate nighttime heating should only be considered when room temperatures genuinely require it.

Important setup notes

The correct setup depends on enclosure size, room temperature, ventilation, mesh density, lamp distance, basking-platform height and fixture placement. The included dimmer is manually controlled and the thermometers display temperature only. An infrared temperature gun is also recommended for basking-surface checks.
